How Stratco And Bradford Brought Comfort And Energy Efficiency To The Block 2025 Sheds

There is something quintessentially Australian about having a shed in the backyard. This year’s contestants on The Block are no different. Each house has its own shed, and all teams have been creative with how they have used the space.

The sheds on The Block are all Stratco sheds made from quality COLORBOND® steel, each 34 square metres in size. Most teams, that is, Emma and Ben, Robby and Mat, Han and Can, Britt and Taz, divided the huge space into two discrete areas, while Sonny and Alicia chose to keep it as a classic garden shed.

“Our shed is staying a shed,” said Alicia. She said that a regular toolshed was the perfect use for their shed, especially in a rural location such as Daylesford. “With the size of the land we would be mad to turn it into anything else. You are going to need lots of equipment, for your garden, and for your lawns,” she added.

All the other teams got a little more creative with their sheds and their possible uses, although most decided to keep some space within the sheds available for tools and a workbench.

Emma and Ben created two spaces in their shed, a garden workshop/toolshed on one end and a golf simulator at the other end. Han and Can designed half of their shed as a brick-panelled potting shed with the other half as an art studio. Britt and Taz’s Stratco shed was divided into two spaces, featuring a workshop and tools down one end and a speakeasy-style bar at the other. Robby and Mat’s well-equipped shed had a workshop at one end and a home gym at the other end.

The secret weapon? Each couple chose to insulate their sheds with Bradford PolyairTM, a premium reflective insulation solution, ideal for all sorts of shed applications. This will help keep the sheds comfortable, even during the hottest summer.

And this is particularly important if you spend a lot of time there potting plants, playing pool, or just doing a little woodwork. Indeed, whether you want to use your shed as a gym, work area, extra entertainment space or even just for more storage space, Bradford PolyairTM can make a shed both comfortable and practical.

Bradford PolyairTM helps to maintain consistent temperatures year-round for improved comfort and energy efficiency. With sealed joints, it provides an added layer of protection by keeping dust out and reducing condensation on metal surfaces. This helps to safeguard tools, equipment, and stored items from weather conditions. This is because Bradford PolyairTM products reflect up to 95% of radiant heat, keeping sheds cooler on hot days and warmer on cold nights.

When it came to the roof, the teams chose Bradford AnticonTM for another layer of insulation to help keep the spaces even more comfortable. Bradford AnticonTM is a foil-faced glasswool insulation blanket specifically designed for residential and commercial metal roof applications, to help increase the roof’s acoustic and thermal qualities, reduce the risk of condensation, and to meet the requirements for metal roofs in bushfire-rated areas (BAL12.5 - BAL40). Anticon 80 FZ also meets the requirements of BAL-FZ-rated areas.
