Gift Card Policy

Stratco Gift Card Policy

This policy has been established to provide clear information on how Stratco gift cards are to be managed and redeemed. This policy applies to all Stratco locations, team members and Gift Card holders

Definitions

Australian Consumer Law means the law set out in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)

Gift Card means a Gift Card issued by Stratco, loaded with a monetary value that is redeemable for goods or services.

Gift Card Holder means the person in possession of the card


In Store means a physical Stratco store or outlet, this excludes virtual or online stores or points of sale

Stratco Website means the website at www.stratco.com.au

Stratco / We / Our / Us refers to Sleco Pty Ltd ACN 007 893 781 and its related bodies corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001)

You / Your refers to any person purchasing, redeeming or attempting to redeem a Stratco Gift Card.

Acceptance Of Terms And Conditions

By purchasing, redeeming or attempting to redeem a Gift Card, you agree to and become bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this policy. Stratco reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and without notice. Updated terms and conditions will be published on the Stratco Website.

Purchasing Gift Cards

Gift Cards may be purchased In Store using cash, debit or credit card.

Gift Cards will be activated at the point of sale by our sales operators. There may be a short delay in processing the activation of Gift Cards during which time, the Gift Card may not be redeemed.

Promotional Gift Cards

Gift Cards may be issued as part of a promotion or competition and use of these cards my be restricted to the original recipient. Stratco may require proof of their identity or eligibility before redemption.

Redemption Conditions

Gift Cards may only be redeemed in store for of goods and services.
Gift Cards cannot be used for:

  • Online purchases
  • Telephone, facsimile or e-mail orders
  • Interest free deposits
  • Payments on existing credit accounts

Gift Cards must not be used for purchases that are prohibited or restricted by law.

Partial Use And Balance Checks

Gift Cards may be used across multiple transactions until the balance is exhausted.
You may check your balance in store with a sales assistant.


Destruction Of Gift Card On Redemption

Once your Gift Card is fully redeemed, it should be destroyed.

Gift Cards That Have Been Damaged Or Tampered With

A Gift Card that has been damaged or altered, defaced or otherwise tampered with, whether for fraudulent purposes or otherwise, will become void and may not be redeemed. Such Gift Cards will not be replaced or refunded.

Refunds And Reversals

The redemption of Gift Cards may not be cancelled or reversed unless approved by Stratco.
This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or Stratco’s returns policy.

No Exchange

Gift Cards cannot be cancelled, exchanged or redeemed for cash once issued.

Expiry Of Gift Cards

All purchased Gift Cards must be valid for at least 3 years from the date of supply.
The expiry date must be clearly displayed on the card. If shown as a time period (e.g., "Valid for 3 years"), the issue date must also be displayed.
Promotional Gift Cards may be exempt from the 3-year rule if issued for a limited time or at a genuine discount

Lost Or Stolen Gift Cards

Gift Cards should be treated like cash. Lost or stolen Gift Cards will not be replaced or refunded.

Fees & Charges

No post-supply fees (e.g., activation, account keeping, balance enquiry) may be charged on Gift Cards.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the use and safety of your Gift Card. We are not responsible for any transactions using your Gift Card except to the extent that there has been fraud or negligence by us or by any of our employees.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all responsibility for any harm to any person or property or for any loss of profits or other indirect or consequential loss relating to the purchase, redemption or attempted redemption of Gift Cards. This does not affect your rights in respect of goods or services purchased on redemption of a Gift Card.
We exclude all responsibility for any tax, liability or duty arising from purchase, redemption or attempted redemption of Gift Cards and in respect of the purchase of goods or services on redemption of a Gift Card.

No Waiver

No granting of time indulgence or failure to enforce a provision of these terms and conditions shall constitute a waiver by us of the same.

Privacy

We collect personal information to provide and market our products and services. That information may be disclosed to our contractors who assist us with these activities. Our Privacy Policy contains information about how an individual may access or correct information we hold about the individual, how complaints about a breach of privacy can be made to us and how such complaints will be dealt with. If you do not consent to us using your personal information to market products and services, please email privacy.officer@stratco.com.au.

General

These terms and conditions cover the entire agreement and understanding between you and us relating to your purchase, redemption or attempt to redeem a Gift Card.

The validity and interpretation of these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any dispute in connection with these terms and conditions is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.

If any part or all of any provision of these terms and conditions becomes or is found to be illegal or unenforceable, that provision may be severed from these terms and conditions and the remaining provisions shall continue in force.


Interpretation

In these terms and conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

1. headings do not affect interpretation
2. singular includes plural and plural includes singular
3. a reference to a party includes its executors, administrators, successors and permitted assigns
4. a reference to a person includes a partnership, corporation, association, government body and any other entity
5. a provision is not to be construed against a person because that person prepared it.
